The "Barcelona" team failed to implement the plan to return to the reconstructed "Camp Nou" stadium by mid-September.
As reported by "Sport," the La Liga match on September 14 between the Catalans and the "Valencia" club will be held at the modest "Johan Cruyff" arena with just 6,000 seats.
Media sources reported that the technologies required by the tournament organizers are currently being installed in the small stadium.
Indeed, the Catalans are pleased that they were able to obtain at least an exemption from UEFA earlier.
The La Liga team had to choose a single arena for the upcoming European season's matches by the end of August.
With the reconstruction of the "Camp Nou" arena taking longer than expected, there was a serious threat that Champions League matches would again be played at the Olympic stadium.
However, UEFA decided to grant an exemption, allowing "Barca" to choose one arena at the start of the season based on the situation and then change it later.
The concession will be valid for the Catalans until February of next year.
