"Banga" won at home again

The return to the "TOPsport A League" after the international competitions is going well for Gargždų "Banga". In the match of the 24th round, in front of their fans, the Gargždai team defeated the last-placed Vilnius "Riteriai" 2:0 (1:0).

In the very first attack, the guests had a chance, but Leifo Estevez's kicked ball was caught by Mantas Bertašius. The 27th minute was significant in the muddy match – Aivaras Emsis converted a penalty kick after Matas Latvys committed a foul in the penalty area.

At the beginning of the second half, "Banga" doubled their lead: in the 55th minute, Simao Junior scored from a set piece. However, the center-back got injured during that episode and was substituted.

As the match was nearing its end, Ignas Venckus, who appeared on the pitch after a substitution, powerfully struck the ball into the post, while Meinardas Mikulėnas headed the ball towards M. Bertašius.

After the victory, "Banga" ranks 8th with 28 points, while "Riteriai" have 14 points and have fallen to the last – 10th – position.
