In the 16th round of the "TOPsport A league," a derby of Žemaitija took place, where Telšiai's "Džiugas" met Gargždai's "Banga." After a tough battle, the victory was achieved by Davido Alfonso's team with a score of 0:1 (0:1).

At the beginning of the match, the hosts attacked the opponents' goal more intensively. However, they failed to convert dangerous situations into goals.

In the middle of the first half, the game leveled out, and "Banga" took advantage of a set-piece situation. Hugo Figueredo took a corner, Akpe Victory rushed to the ball first and passed it to Deividas Malžinskas. The latter scored with a precise header in the 31st minute, putting Gargždai's team ahead.

The second half looked very similar. "Džiugas" had an advantage in ball control and created more shots, but the ball often flew past the goal or ended up in Mantas Bertašius' hands. Meanwhile, the "Banga" players defended resolutely and waited for their chance to break into a counterattack.

Ultimately, neither team was able to score more goals. Gargždai's "Banga" secured the victory and, with 21 points, climbed to the 7th position in the standings. Telšiai's "Džiugas," with the same number of points, remains unable to end a five-match losing streak at home and currently holds the 6th place.
