B. Šeško turned down a higher salary due to the game with Man Utd.

“Manchester United” won the battle against “Newcastle United” for “RB Leipzig” forward Benjamin Šeško.

The 22-year-old Slovenian arrived in Manchester on Thursday, where he is expected to sign a contract with the “Red Devils” on Friday.

Interestingly, the player turned down a potentially higher salary for the chance to play for “Man Utd”.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that in order to transfer to “Old Trafford”, B. Šeško agreed to a lower salary compared to what “Newcastle” could offer.

“United” clearly communicated from the start that they would only enter the race for the player if they felt the desire from B. Šeško himself to join their club.
