Another step towards survival: 'Riteriai' snatch a point at home against 'Banga' © fkriteriai.lt

The 33rd round of the Lithuanian Football A League, sponsored by "TOPsport," started with a high-scoring match in the capital – the game between Vilnius "Riteriai" and Gargždai "Banga" ended with a score of 2:2 (1:2).

The visitors attacked brilliantly in a quick transition less than half a minute into the game, but Vaido Magdušauskas' attempt did not hit the target. However, just in the 4th minute, the home team successfully finished the attack when Meinardas Mikulėnas, beautifully positioned, scored from close range.

Although the match became even more difficult for Gargždai when V. Magdušauskas suffered an injury and had to leave the field, the visitors not only restored their advantage but also surged ahead. Two goals fell after Roko Filipavičius' passes – Ignas Venckus scored once with his head, and at the end of the half, Pijus Srėbalius, who came on as a substitute, also found the net.

In the last minute of the half, I. Venckus could have scored a double, but he was thwarted by Antonio Tuta, who seized an excellent position. In the 59th minute, "Riteriai" equalized when Armantas Vitkauskas saved M. Mikulėnas' attempt, and Denilsonas Carvalho, who had just come on as a substitute, sent the rebounded ball into the net.

In the 74th minute, the Vilnius goalkeeper had to work with shots from Mato Ramanauskas and Maksimo Andrejevo, and at the end of the match, M. Ramanauskas once again posed a threat.

After the conclusion of these 33rd round matches, "Banga," with 38 points, remains in the eighth position, while the point gained by "Riteriai" brought them closer to securing the 9th position, with a total of 25 points.
