After defeating 'Sūduva', 'Šiauliai' secures fourth place in A league.

The 26th round of the "TOPsport" supported Lithuanian Football A League was successfully concluded by the representatives of the Sun City. FA "Šiauliai" defeated Marijampole's "Sūduva" with a score of 2:1 (1:0), which allowed the Šiauliai team to get closer to the 3rd position in the tournament table.

The first goal was scored in the 8th minute when Nikita Komissarovas sent the ball into the net from a distance after a standard position. Towards the end of the first half, Frankline Tangiri took a shot from a turn, which was saved by Gustas Baliutavičius. In the next episode, Šiauliai launched a counterattack, but it was interrupted in time by Giedrius Zenkevičius, who left the goal.

In the 48th minute, the representatives of the Sun City doubled their lead – after seizing the ball, Danielis Romanovskis passed it to Gabrielius Micevičius, who defeated the opponents' goalkeeper. A little later, Eligijus Jankauskas misled several opponents in a fast attack, however, his long attempt to lift the ball over the goalkeeper was unsuccessful.

In the 56th minute, "Sūduva" could have narrowed the score after F. Tangiri's attempt, but G. Baliutavičius excellently guarded the goal, and later saved himself from Nauris Petkevičius's attempt.

In the 75th minute, the intrigue was revived by a very strong kick from Idris Momoh that resulted in a goal. Just a few minutes later, Darius Stankevičius made a dangerous attempt from a long distance, which fell just short of its target.

After the 26th round of matches, "Sūduva" remains third with 42 points, while the victorious Šiauliai ranks fourth, being just two points behind the Marijampole team. It is worth noting that Donatas Vencevičius's squad has played one match less.
