On Saturday in Portugal, the tragically deceased striker Diogo Jota was accompanied on his last journey by his brother Andre Silva.

The funeral was attended by a host of celebrities – Liverpool players and coach Arne Slot, Everton manager David Moyes, Manchester United leader Bruno Fernandes, and other footballers.

The media managed to find out why striker Cristiano Ronaldo did not come to say goodbye to his former teammate. The superstar was afraid that his appearance would disrupt the solemnity and draw all the attention to himself.

The mourning ceremony was later "marked" by an unpleasant incident – fans began to surge towards the players' grave, which even required police intervention to control.
