The captain of Bournemouth, Adam Smith, was outraged by the scandal that emerged during the first match of the Premier League season.
In the match held in Liverpool, local fans racially insulted his teammate Antoine Semenyo, which even led to the match being temporarily halted.
After losing 2-4 to Liverpool, A. Smith said:
"This is absolutely unacceptable. I am shocked just by the fact that such things are still happening these days.
I don’t know how Antoine managed to play and even score goals. We all support him.
It turns out that kneeling (a past action against racism - author’s note) was not an effective idea - we need to do something."
