A. Slotas: 'It’s never easy to leave M. Salah on the bench' © AFP

"Liverpool” club head coach Arne Slot commented on his decision to leave the team's star Mohamed Salah on the bench for the third time after a 3:3 draw with "Leeds United”:

"It is never an easy decision, as we all know what a great player he is.

But I decide which players to choose that I think can fit for the match. That’s why I made that decision.”

"We have to accept the situation we are in right now. There’s little time left for the Egyptian to be with us, as he will go to the AFCON tournament next week. Before that, we will play against "Inter” from Milan.”

"We were leading 2:0, then 3:2, but at that moment it was all about controlling the game.

We didn’t need another goal at that time, so I brought Wataru Endo onto the field and left M. Salah on the bench.”

33-year-old Mohamed Salah has played just 45 minutes in the last three matches.

"Liverpool” shares 6th to 8th places in the English championship with 23 points.
