Arne Slot is experiencing his toughest period at the helm of Liverpool.

The English champions in the Premier League are enduring a series of four consecutive defeats, and in the middle of the week, they exited the league cup competitions after losing to Crystal Palace.

The coach has recently faced increasing criticism, but ahead of the upcoming match against Aston Villa, A. Slot stated that he does not intend to change his tactics, blaming injuries and a lack of preparation for the team's poor results.

I am satisfied with the team I have. However, I also believe in the tactics I follow.

What is currently causing us problems is that not all players had a full preparation for the season. When several players drop out due to injuries, our rotation shrinks to 16 footballers.

I believe that a good team needs 21-22 players, but they need to be healthy. This is what we managed to achieve last season. This season, we are struggling to keep players healthy, which impacts the team’s results.

Alexander Isak arrived at the team on September 1st, and several other players also lacked preparation for the season.

Perhaps last season we were just very lucky regarding injuries, and this season we are not having the same luck. I don't want to make excuses, but we have had to play a lot of away games with very little time between matches, A. Slot said at the press conference.
