The Scotland national team fought for victory against Denmark in a dramatic match on Tuesday and broke through to the World Cup after a very long break.
After the match, Scotland's captain Andy Robertson did not hide that he was very nervous before the crucial game and thought about his teammate Diogo Jota, who passed away last summer.
"I tried to hide it, but I was really nervous before the match. I fully understand that this could be my first and last chance to play in the World Cup.
Before the match, I was constantly thinking about my buddy Diogo Jota. We would always talk about playing in the World Cup.
He missed the last World Cup due to an injury, and we just didn't qualify for it. We were always talking about the possibility of making it here.
Being in the hotel, I was struggling to hold it together, but I think I managed to hide it well from my teammates. I believe Diogo is looking down on me and smiling. Today, I was only thinking about him,” said A. Robertson after the victory.
