One of the most famous Lithuanian football players of all time, Arvydas Novikovas, has set an ambitious goal.

As reported by lrt.lt, the forward of Vilnius "Riteriai" hopes to receive another call-up to the national team, where he has already played 96 matches.

"Fiodor Černych and I talk every day, we even joke around. And what does 'return' mean? Fiodor is already there, everything is good, I need to return here, I, the phoenix, need to [be resurrected].

Everyone is talking about that hundred matches... Of course, it’s nice, playing a hundred matches is an honor, but I want to return to the national team not just for that, it's not the main goal.

I want to return because I like representing the country, it is an honor and a pleasure for me," said the 35-year-old veteran on LRT radio’s "Champion's Lunch" program.
