The start of the 2nd round of the TOP LEAGUE was marked by a victory from the ambitious players of Vilnius "Žalgiris." Rolandas Džiaukštas' students were the first to concede a goal but did not falter and celebrated a confident victory with a score of 4:1 (1:1).

The meeting began more successfully for the guests. The author of the first goal of this season for the Panevėžys team was Rokas Rasimavičius – the wing defender who received the ball deceived several opponents and struck accurately into the far bottom corner of the goal.

After a few more moments, the Žalgiris team's deficit could have become even larger – Edvinas Muratovičius played a "wall pass" with Oleksandr Kurcev, and the goalkeeper Carlos Olsesas managed to fend off the shot from the Ukrainian.

In the 28th minute, after a pass from Jurijus Kendyšas, Liviu Antalis had a good opportunity, but Vytautas Černiauskas played successfully.

After another 10 minutes, Klaudijus Upstas found Deividas Šešplaukas with a pass, and the latter accurately shot to restore the balance.

Supported by a large number of fans, the Žalgiris players powerfully started the second half of the meeting. Initially, D. Šešplaukas scored a double after a pass from Giedrius Matulevičius. However, the problems for Rolando Vrabecas’ team did not end there – a few minutes later, Saba Mamacašvilis took a long shot, and Justinas Januševičius redirected the ball into his own net.

In the 64th minute, a handball by a guest defender resulted in a penalty. L. Antalis, who stood at the spot, failed to convert the penalty, but J. Kendyšas was the first to the ball and increased the Žalgiris' lead even further.

In the remaining time, the teams did not score any more goals, and the "Žalgiris" players secured their first 3 points in the tournament table.
