A League: 'Banga' dealt with 'Šiauliai' at home

The Monday match marathon in the "TOPsport A league" started with a duel in Gargždai. The 23rd round was victorious for Gargždų "Banga," which defeated the unfavorable opponent – FA "Šiauliai" – with a minimal 1:0 (1:0) result.

In the very first attack, Gargždai debutant Sherwin Seedorf forced Gustas Baliutavičius to work, and the latter managed to handle the challenge. In the 16th minute, Daniel Romanovskis' pass to Eligijus Jankauskas could have ended in a goal, but the ball flew past the rectangle. Shortly after, E. Jankauskas released Milan Džokičius forward, but this time the team was saved by Mantas Bertašius.

In the 20th minute, the home team surged ahead when Vaidas Magdušauskas confused the opponent with an impressive shot and disarmed the opposing goalkeeper. Just a few minutes later, Anderson Cordeiro could have doubled the score during the confusion. In the 77th minute, Sh. Seedorf was led into a quick attack after receiving a pass from deep, however, G. Baliutavičius, who left the goal on time, blocked the effort.

At the end of the match, an unpleasant episode occurred – after a collision with an opponent, Daniel Jarašius, who appeared after a substitution, did not finish the game. During injury time, Scotty Sadzoute took an extremely dangerous free kick, but fell slightly short of the accuracy needed for an equalizing goal.

After playing the 23rd match of the "TOPsport A league," "Banga" ranks 8th in the tournament table with 28 points, while the Šiauliai team, which suffered a defeat, ranks fourth with 35 points.
